Pick up the shard and move it to another backpack.

Then upgrade a already max level shard and when you want to chose the 10x shards to use the moved shard will show 2x and only counts 1x.

This works unlimited ammounts of times, got 11x the same shard in the UI but only 1x in the Inventory.
